Man City chairman makes cheeky Barcelona joke as Ilkay Gundogan returns

Gundogan left the Etihad in 2023 to join Barcelona on a free transfer but sealed a stunning return last week after the Catalan club made it clear it was best for him to leave amid their difficult financial position.
City acted quickly as soon as they knew he was available to snap him up on a one-year deal with the possibility of a 12-month extension.
City's midfielder was delighted to be back in a city where he never gave up his apartment next to Pep Guardiola. As he caught up with familiar faces, he told City's chairman Al Mubarak about how much he had missed the people.
