Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after teenager chased into shop and stabbed

A 19-year-old boy was chased into a shop before being stabbed in the back in Levenshulme on the evening of Tuesday, September 1.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing at a food store on Stockport Road at around 6.10pm.Officers established the teenager had been chased into the shop by a man who stabbed him in the back before fleeing.A stretch of the pavement outside Madina Super Store was cordoned off by officers, with the teenager taken to hospital with stab wounds to his back.He has since been discharged.Police have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder.He remains in custody and is being quizzed by detectives.Detective Inspector Chris Maddocks, of GMP's City of Manchester district, said: "We're pleased to inform.
