Lorraine star Tyler West has opened up about his tough childhood on a "racist council estate" in South London.The Kiss FM host, who grew up with his mum Debbie, an NHS nurse, and older brother Lewis, shared some of the struggles they faced.The 27 year old described bailiffs knocking on the door and not being "sure if there would be food on the table".
He told The Mirror that it was "hard to dream" about his future, but described his mum as his "rock" and said that she inspired him to get to where he is now.
Speaking to The Mirror, Tyler told of one shocking incident when he witnessed a stabbing outside his house, which left him with severe mental health issues and scared to leave the house.
He said: "On the estate there was a lot of drug dealing, police being called at ridiculous hours. Me and Lewis could have gone down a completely different route.
