Snail Mail has shared a euphoric cover of The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Tonight, Tonight’ – check it out below.Snail Mail – real name Lindsey Jordan – recorded a version of the Smashing Pumpkins’ beloved 1996 song for the A24 indie film I Saw The TV Glow back in January.

Now, the cover is available via streaming services for the first time.As well as appearing on the soundtrack, Jordan also made her movie acting debut in the film, directed by Jane Schoenbrun.Speaking about the song, Jordan said: “This all came together really serendipitously.

We had been working on this cover to play on the ‘Valentine’ tour, before I got the part. It came up early on because I have a tattoo on my right arm of the man in the moon to commemorate the first ever science fiction film, A Trip to the Moon and the Smashing Pumpkins video for ‘Tonight, Tonight’.“While reading the script, I discovered the arch nemesis of the Pink Opaque is inspired by the same imagery.

I told Jane we were doing this cover in NYC, they came and saw it live, and the rest was herstory.”Listen to the track here:Last month, Snail Mail joined Weezer onstage to perform two tracks at their recent New York City show.Jordan joined the California rock band onstage at their Forest Hills Stadium show in Queens, New York on Thursday (July 13), where they performed single ‘El Scorcho’ and b-side ‘I Just Threw Out The Love Of My Dreams’ from 1996 album ‘Pinkerton’.Footage shared to Jordan’s Instagram showed her rehearsing with frontman Rivers Cuomo and guitarist Brian Bell, simply captioning the post “thanks for having me @weezer” with a crying emoji and love heart.Snail Mail has also been busy with her own string of recent team-ups and covers.
