Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

Lewis Capaldi has issued fans with an update on his mental health and revealed a special treat for them for New year.The singer took to Twitter to announce he will be releasing new music at midnight tonight following his six-month break from the stage due to ongoing health battles.The 27-year-old Scots superstar stepped back from performing in June while noticeably struggling with Tourette's and anxiety issues.Wishing his followers a Happy New year, Lewis said his mental health is improving and he plans to make a return in the 'not so distant future'.However, he added that for now he will be continuing with his break and taking more time to look after himself to make sure he is '100%' for live performances.The Hold Me While You Wait singer then sent fans into a frenzy by announcing an extended version of his best selling album 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent'.

Five new tracks have been added to the album and will drop at midnight.Speaking of his highly-anticipated new music, Lewis told his followers: "These songs mean the world to me and I'd be gutted if I'd not been able to share them."Hope this tides you all over until we can get in a room and sing them together some day very soon!"The Scots star, from Whitburn, cancelled all of his shows for the rest of 2023 following his performance at Glastonbury in June after struggling to finish his set at the music festival.Lewis issued a statement on Instagram at the time, admitting that it was the "hardest decision of his life" but that he needed to step out of the limelight for the foreseeable future to focus on his health.The musician was diagnosed with Tourette's last year and has been very open about his health battles since.
