Kate Middleton has admitted becoming a member of the royal family was something she never expected, but then everything changed when she met and “fell in love” with Prince William in 2001.

The now-married couple first crossed paths during their time at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, when Kate was studying art history and William was doing geography.

A decade later, they got married in a lavish royal ceremony in Westminster Abbey and now the couple share three children, Prince George, nine, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five. The Princess of Wales, 41, made the admission when she joined a Dame Kelly Holmes Trust event in Bath and took on the double Olympic champion at a game of bean-bag noughts and crosses – but came out second best.

Wearing a mustard-coloured blazer, smart white top and suit trousers, the princess was all smiles as she showed off her signature blow dried brunette locks and sat down for a chat with a group schoolgirls supported by the charity at St Katherine’s School in Bristol.
