Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has unsurprisingly admitted that nobody could have expected Manchester United to lose at Anfield 7-0 on Sunday.
Despite only being one goal down at half-time thanks to a Cody Gakpo strike just before the interval, United suffered a horrendous capitulation after the interval.
Darwin Nunez and Gakpo made it 3-0 just five minutes after the restart before Klopp's team pushed home their advantage. Mohamed Salah grabbed a brace and Nunez added another to his tally before Roberto Firmino finished off the scoring in the 88th minute to complete the rout.
Reflecting on the terrible afternoon for Erik ten Hag's team, Klopp admitted that the result could not have been foreseen. "The performance is much more important and the three points extremely important.
