EXCLUSIVE: Jayme Lawson (The Batman) has been tapped for a key role in The Running Man, Edgar Wright’s adaptation of the novel by Stephen King for Paramount Pictures.
Lawson plays Sheila, the wife of Glen Powell’s Ben, who struggles to care for their sick child amid a dystopian future, leading to Ben’s participation in the titular competition.
Others starring, as previously announced, include Josh Brolin, Karl Glusman, Katy O’Brian, Daniel Ezra, and Lee Pace. Published by King under the pen name Richard Bachman, 1982’s The Running Man is set in an oppressive future where the government controls the media.
The story follows Ben Richards as he volunteers to participate in a deadly game show called The Running Man, which will see him hunted by professional killers over the course of 30 days.
