I ditched ultra-processed food and switched from milk chocolate to 99% — only one way I'm going now

In the beginning of 2024, I decided to give up ultra-processed food to see its effect on my health. You can read about that here but, to summarise, I lost weight and my body shape transformed.

I instantly stopped consuming UPFs and haven't had any in eight months. Although I've not really missed any specific food (in fact, there are some things I used to eat that I now actively avoid), there is one thing I have craved: chocolate.

But most of the mass-produced chocolate available in supermarkets epitomises ultra-processed food. It's generally highly modified and usually contains excessive amounts of salt, sugar, fat and industrial chemical additives.

For instance, these are the ingredients in a Cadbury's Dairy Milk (not to single out Dairy Milk, this is typical for such products): Dark chocolate is different.
