Hundreds of jobs in Manchester have been created by Booking.com so far this year as the technology giant progresses its plans to expand beyond accommodation.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, a top boss has revealed how the company, which has its UK headquarters in the city, is trying to "solve the most complicated problem in travel" as well as how it's bouncing back from the pandemic.
As well as outlining Booking.com's plans to create the "connective trip", Matthias Schmid added the proposals will form the basis of its "core North Star objective" over the next few years. READ MORE: Click here to sign up to the BusinessLive North West newsletter The Swiss national took up his role as vice president and managing director, cars, at the firm's Manchester UK headquarters just five weeks before the first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020.
He was forced to work in a different country before he was able to relocate from New York towards the end of last year. Now the former Emirates executive is spearheading Booking.com's drive to make up for lost time which has involved creating 300 jobs in Manchester so far in 2022, with a further 60 vacancies still available.
