Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-lee are splitting after 27 years of marriage. The couple share two kids, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, and met in 1995 on the set of the Australian TV series Corelli.

The couple released a joint statement and told PEOPLE: "We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. "Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."They explained: "We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.

We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."The X-Men star has previously said that he was drawn to Deborra-Lee due to her confidence in their first introduction.

He told TODAY in 2018: "I knew two weeks into meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives."Hugh proposed after four months of dating and previously said on a podcast: "He was very nervous because he didn’t have a clue about jewellery or diamonds, and he just went in there, and he said, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing, so I’ll just tell you a bit about Deb.'
