Horror crash on outskirts of Edinburgh closes road as emergency crews remain on scene
dailyrecord.co.ukA horror crash has taken place in West Lothian, causing a busy road to close. Emergency services, including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service, raced to the A71 in East Calder following reports of a multi-vehicle smash.
The incident took place around 2pm, and mercy crews are believed to still be at the scene. The road, from the Langton Road junction to Oakbank Roundabout, is still shut off.
Residents have reported huge tailbacks in the area, with West Lothian Council taking to social media to inform people of the closure, reports Edinburgh Live.
They posted: "Emergency Road Closure - A71 from junction to Langton Road, East Calder to Oakbank Roundabout."Please be aware a road closure is in place on the the A71 between the Oakbank Roundabout and the junction to Langton Road, East Calder following reports of a road traffic accident.
