Doris Day tribute show to light up Ayr Gaiety stage

A show paying tribute to one of America's biggest stars of music and film is coming to Ayr next week.'Que Sera Sera' will celebrate the life and times of Doris Day on the stage of the Gaiety Theatre.The night will take in a factual musical timeline of Day’s career, starting at the beginning of her career during the big band days.Audience members will then be taken on a 'Sentimental Journey' to the Hollywood movies that made her the legend that is Doris Day.Three international vocalists will perform as part of the special night, which producers are pledging will be full of nostalgia.Edd Holloway, of EHP Theatre Productions, said: "Que Sera Sera has wonderful music and great costumes - all complimented by stunning choreography and video projection depicting some wonderful vintage footage of a bygone era."The show doesn’t mimic the sound and movements of Doris Day – we think she is worth much more than that."It is a fan’s tribute to the fantastic songs and memories that Doris Day and her music gave every generation."Edd added: "More than that, it is another night for the celebration of live theatre and entertainment in our great Gaiety Theatre."Just recently we enjoyed putting on a fantastic 'Big Night Out' with some of Britain's best performers taking to our local stage."As a company, we want to celebrate the best of live entertainment right on our own doorstep and this promises to be another fantastic night to do it."For tickets to the show next Thursday, September 1 visit www.thegaiety.co.uk or call the box office on (01292) 288235.Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines –sign up to our free daily newsletter here
