John Rankin insists there is a long way to go in the title race and he "won't give in" after falling further behind rivals Falkirk at the top of the table.Saturday's costly 1-1 draw with Kelty Hearts, which saw the Fifers benefit from a 79th minute red card for Hamilton's Dylan Tait to pull level two minutes later, has left Accies five points adrift in second place having played a game more.Accies lost to Falkirk the previous week at New Douglas Park, off the back of a disappointing 0-0 draw at Alloa the week before and all of a sudden Rankin's men have gone from top of the tree to looking at a potential eight-point gap from themselves and the Bairns, who have gone 22 games unbeaten in all competitions this season."You have got to give Falkirk credit because they are on a great run and they've not dropped a lot of points," admitted Rankin."But I will never give in."The disappointing thing for me is, halfway through the season, we have dropped six points from being in winning positions and giving away draws."Aye, we've come off the back of a disappointing performance at Alloa and a poor result last week against Falkirk but against Kelty, when we go to 10 men, the overriding emotion is frustration because I don't know if we [Dylan Tait] needed to make that challenge."It is great to dominate possession, it is great to have the bulk of the chances, but if you don't capitalise on that, you are always going to end up in the position where you are feeling vulnerable with 15 minutes to go."But there is a lot to happen between now and the rest of the season."Rankin will be stewing over recent displays when he tucks into his Christmas dinner, but he knows his players can't afford any hangovers when they travel to an Edinburgh City
