Global search for owner of house where Cromwell's troops rested

The 500-year-old house in Bolton has been empty for at least a decade and has become the target of numerous break-ins and acts of vandalism.

Chris Clarke, 30, who lives less than a mile from the Cunliffe Brow house called Ivy Cottage, wants to buy the house and restore it.

But his attempts to contact the owner, Stephen Turner, who works in the hotel sector have so far failed. It is understood he may be working abroad.
