Glasgow man scoops £2.5m country mansion and 100k cash in raffle

A Glasgow man who has spent years helping disabled people find a home has won a £2.5million country house in a raffle. Grant Carson, 58, scooped the five-bedroom farmhouse after entering the Omaze Million Pound House Draw.

The mansion is set in eight acres of the Lake District - and widower Grant says he now can't wait to get a dog to share it with.

The Scot says getting a pooch was always out of the question before due to chronic arthritis he has had since he was seven - but now he can afford a dog walker.The house comes mortgage free, with all stamp duty and legal fees covered - and delighted Grant has also even been given £100,000 in cash.

He has never won anything in his life and was stunned when the Omaze team surprised him at his home in Glasgow to tell him.He has lived in his current three-bedroom semi-detached house in Glasgow for 17 years.
