Ghost captured in haunting photo at East Lothian castle

Scots castle still remains a mystery. An image, dubbed one of the world's most haunting pictures, shows a figure wearing a ruff and centuries-old clothing can be seen peering from a ruined window at Tantallon Castle near North Berwick, East Lothian.

The castle, which dates back to the 14 century, stands on a remote headland near North Berwick and was badly damaged in an attack by Oliver Cromwell’s forces in 1651.The photo, taken by Christopher Aitchison in 2009 still remains an unsolved mystery.It’s known that no mannequins or costumed guides are used within the castle and experts have confirmed through analysis that there is no digital alterations at play.
