Match of the Day host Gary Lineker has backed Jadon Sancho's decision to address Erik ten Hag's comments after Manchester United's defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.
Following the 3-1 loss to the Gunners, a frustrated Ten Hag was asked why Sancho was absent from the squad which travelled to North London.
He responded stating the Englishman's 'training performances' were behind his absence. Taking exception to the comments from his boss, Sancho posted on his social media accounts: "Please don't believe everything you read!
I have conducted myself in training very well this week. "I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won't get into, I've been a scapegoat for a long time which isn't fair!" Since the post, MEN Sport understands Ten Hag has stood by his press conference comments and feels there is no need to add to them.
