This Morning presenter Alison Hammond sparked complaints after a comment she made about children missing school to stay home and watch the ITV show.
86 different viewers contacted the TV watchdog to share their frustration at the 48-year-old presenter’s remark, where she described children at home watching the show as "naughty." Speaking to The Mirror an Ofcom spokesperson said: "The majority of complaints related to comments made by Alison Hammond about children who are not in school at the time of broadcast as naughty." The comment happened during the same episode where Alison apologised live on air to fans for being "unprofessional" after a phone started ringing during the show.
While presenting, a shocked Dermot O'Leary reacted to the mobile phone, saying "Oh my God, have you not turned it off?" to which she replied: "I did turn it off!
That’s not me! That wasn’t me!" before adding: "I am so sorry. How unprofessional." It's not the first time Alison has unintentionally upset This Morning viewers after people also complained to Ofcom about her saying she was "devastated" at new rules which stopped people singing at the theatre.
