Sam Ollier, of Crewe, Cheshire, became partially blind after contracting the rare disease, known as crescentic IgA nephropathy, which caused his kidneys to fail.

The usually fit and healthy 25-year-old suffered blurred vision which progressed into dangerously high blood pressure.
