The family of a young man killed by a speeding drunk driver have paid tribute to the 'loveable rogue' and say they will have to live with a 'life sentence' as his killer could be free after just five years.

Elliot Lemm, 20, was a front-seat passenger when he was killed in a crash in Horbury, near Wakefield, in 2021 after 19-yaer-old Chelsea Standage careered down a 30mph speed limit road at more than 70mph while over the drink drive limit.

She lost control on a bend and smashed into a wall and a parked car. Shocking footage posted to Snapchat from Standage's vehicle showed passengers begging for her to 'slow down' as she sped down the road.

Elliot was sitting in the front of the car when it smashed into the wall at 1.55am on November 13, 2021. Try MEN Premium for FREE by clicking here for no ads, fun puzzles and brilliant new features. Elliot had not been spending time with the group that day, and only joined them later on after being “bugged” by his friend to come out.
