A court heard how a driver struck a mum while doing twice the legal speed limit, then stopped to try and cover his tracks rather than help her.
Connor Faulkner, 27, was sentenced to seven years in prison with a further three on extended licence after he admitted to a thread of charges, including causing the death of Joanne Whyte by dangerous driving.
Manchester Evening News reports Faulkner had no licence, no insurance and was banned from the road when he got behind the wheel of his grandad's vehicle without his knowledge, Minshull Street Crown Court heard today.
Faulkner, from Hyde in Manchester, also had a shocking record of driving offences, including having twice failed to stop for police and taken them on a chase.
