They assumed she was hiding somewhere, and returned to the house in Glossop every day for a week, leaving food out for her. On the first day, the food had been eaten and Molly's owners were relieved as they knew she must be somewhere in the house.

But their attempts to find her failed. The new home owner, Glyn Stafford continued to leave milk each day, in a ruse to get Molly out of her hiding spot.
