East Kilbride starlets set to rock theatres as studio extension given go ahead

The sky's the limit for students of Encore Stars Academy after the theatre school was given the go ahead to extend its East Kilbride studio.South Lanarkshire Council have granted a change of use request for the adjoining retail unit to their state-of-the-art studio in the Plaza mall with works due to start soon.Encore Stars Academy opened its base in the town centre in December 2023.Allen Hannah, who runs the academy, said: "We got approval from the council to have the extended Encore Studios.

This will be huge for us and we will be needing support and/or sponsorship to assist us with costs involved in turning the old Halifax - disused for 20 years - into a thriving hub for the arts."The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
