DWP announces new £150 disability cost of living payment window update for people due money

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced a new update for millions of people due to receive the £150 disability cost of living payment.

The Minister for Disabled People, Health and Work, Tom Pursglove MP, told MPs in the House of Commons on Tuesday that DWP plans to have made 99 per cent of payments to those already eligible by Monday, June 26.More than six million people claiming disability payments, including Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Adult Disability Payment and Attendance Allowance, will receive the lump sum directly into their bank account with no need to apply.

It will appear on accounts and statements as a ‘Bank Giro Credit’ with the claimant’s National Insurance number followed by ‘DWP COL’.

Some 1.6m people received the money on Tuesday, June 20 - the first day of the payment window. Mr Pursglove also said that “most remaining already eligible people will receive their payment by 4 July”.The DWP Minister told MPs: “Those cash payments, which we estimate will be worth around £1 billion, will be automatically transferred into people’s bank accounts, with those eligible for the support not needing to take any action. “By the end of Monday 26 June, we plan to have made 99% of payments to those already eligible - that is millions of payments being made in just seven days. “Most remaining already eligible people will receive their payment by 4 July.”He added: “We estimate that nearly 60% of individuals who receive an extra-costs disability benefit will also receive the means-tested benefit cost of living payment, and more than 85% will receive either of, or both, the means-tested pensioner payments.”Here are 11 key facts everyone due the cost of living payment should know:Some 6.7million
