Dumfries & Galloway Council facing £8 million funding gap in 2020/21 budget

Gillian Ross. The Scottish budget is not due to be announced until January while factors including the coronavirus pandemic and pay increases could alter the “early estimates subject to potentially significant change”.

However, Ms Ross says officials have come up with a mid-range estimate of the projected funding gap for 2021/22 which is £8.1million.

The lowest estimate is £3.8million with the most dire projection showing an £18.4million black hole. Last year’s funding gap was £16.1million.
