A disabled driver who torched his Motability car narrowly avoided a prison sentence this week.A jury convicted Andrew Murray, 43, of wilfully setting fire to and damaging the vehicle in Luing, Airdrie, on May 13, 2022.

Murray, of Whinhall Avenue, Airdrie, was also found guilty of wasting police time by making a false claim that his home had been broken into on the same day.
