David Beckham is suing actor Mark Wahlberg as the football legend claims a fitness brand deal gone bad lost him £8.5 million.David and Mark became friends when the Beckhams moved to Los Angeles in 2007 as the stars lived in the same neighbourhood in Beverly Hills.

Now David's company alleges it was "duped" by Mark into working with the gym group F45 after David agreed to be their ambassador. His firm, DB Ventures Ltd, claims it was promised stocks by F45 and Mark's company that were withheld after share prices dropped, thus allegedly losing him £8.5 million.

The 48-year-old has taken legal action against Mark's company, Mark Wahlberg Investment Group [MWIG] and F45 founders Adam Gilchrist and Rob Deutsch. In response, Mark and F45 owners have asked the judge to dismiss the lawsuit as allegations of "fraudulent conduct" have no basis.

The publication reports that documents about the case state the "209 page, 610 paragraph SAC [complaint] tries to make up with length what it lacks in merit".David initially teamed up with Greg Norman, as the golf star also fell out with F45, but a judge reportedly ruled they had to file separate law suits, reports the Mirror.
