Dave Matthews is definitely the elephant in the room — or maybe the 800-pound marching ant? — when it comes to Thursday’s music live-streams. Tonight is the night he performs a half-hour solo show online as the premiere of a new Verizon-sponsored series, “Pay It Forward Live,” that will be broadcast each week to promote the Local Initiatives Support Corporation’s efforts to help out small businesses in distress.

Verizon has found a way to marry digital entertainment and philanthropy while honoring social distancing guidelines via Pay if Forward Live, a new weekly streaming series that will include music, gaming, comedy and other categories all to support small businesses that have been affected during the coronavirus pandemic. The series launches Thursday (March 26) at 8 p.m.

A solo Dave Matthews show, performed live from his home, will be the premiere episode of “Pay It Forward Live,” a new weekly series being sponsored by Verizon to help support small businesses suffering from lost business due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Most people don't expect to open their garage and find a homeless man taking up residence there overnight. And they certainly don't expect that man to be Dave Matthews.
