Dan Walker has shown support for his friend and co-presenter Helen Skelton after she decided to quit her job on 5 Live. The radio host broadcast her final shop on Sunday morning after taking over the slot from former Love Island host Laura Whitmore.

During her last show, presenter Steve Crossman said he was emotional that Skelton was leaving. To which she replied: " “I know, I don’t want to but an eight-year-old will be happy about it.” Walker, who hosts 5 News, also co-hosts a new four-part travel series with Skelton.

The show, titled Dan & Helen's Pennine Adventure, will Tuesday at 9am. Following news of her departure from the radio, he has described her as a "great mum".
