dad-of-three was left gobsmacked after being quoted £71,000 for a week's stay in Cornwall. Paul Nickerson was looking for a summer staycation in August for himself and his family, with three young sons aged five and under when he came across the three-bedroom contemporary home.

However, much to his shock he discovered a week's stay at the house that slept five in picturesque St Ives would cost £10,232 a night, Wales Online reported.

He told HullLive he found many other overpriced staycations online - costing more than a week abroad. He said: "Everything I have seen is about 50 per cent more than their normal price.
