The coroner investigating Awaab Ishak's death has asked police to carry out more work on the estate where he lived following a Manchester Evening News investigation.
The two-year-old died in December 2020 after living in a property affected by damp and mould. A hearing at Rochdale Coroners Court in June heard that a post-mortem into Awaab's death established a link between those conditions and his tragic death, just days after the toddler's second birthday.
Today (August 26), the final pre-inquest review for Awaab took place at Rochdale Coroners Court, ahead of his inquest in November.
Coroner Joanne Kearsley confirmed the list of witnesses expected at the inquest and asked legal representatives for those involved to keep an extra week free in their diaries, with the inquest potentially set to last longer than seven days.
