Coronation Street fans say 'no joking' as they spot upcoming problem for Simon Barlow as history repeats itself

Coronation Street fans have been left concerned for Simon Barlow as they think they have worked out that history will repeat itself.

The character hasn't quite been himself since his dad Peter Barlow left on Boxing Day without saying goodbye to his son. In the emotional episode Peter, played for Chris Garscoyne, said goodbye to various family members, including father Ken Barlow and sister Tracey after going over his relationship with his wife Carla Connor before deciding them going their separate ways was for the best.

But his son Simon was nowhere to be seen. The next day, Simon arrived back at the flat after he had "been out with mates" but Carla had a go at him, saying she had "been tearing my hair out." Simon said that he had lost his phone while Carla gestured to him and said:"“Look at the state of you," to which Simon replied: "It’s Christmas Ok, let’s not be a killjoy." Dad’s gone?” When he was going through the messages, Carla said: “He was depserate to speak to you” but Simon interrupted: “Not too desperate to change his plans!” Since then, Simon has found himself moving out of the flat he shared with his dad and Carla, heading back to stay with Leanne Battersby on her sofa following the unexpected arrival of her nephew, Bobby.
