Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Cops probing spate of car crime on a number of streets in the village of Stanley

Local police officers are investigating a series of linked thefts and theft attempts from cars in a number of streets in Stanley.Five cars were targeted at addresses on King Street, Murray Place, Shielhill Place and Mill Street overnight last Thursday with at least two occurring around midnight.A male, described as about 5ft 9, stocky build, wearing a plain grey zip-up hooded top and jogging bottoms, was seen committing one of these offences.Given the location and similarity between all of the incidents, police consider them to be linked.A police spokesperson said: “If you have any information that could assist us, particularly if you have private CCTV or were driving through the village and have dashcam footage, please call 101 or speak to any police officer.“Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.“Our reference is incident 0084 of October 14.”The crime spate comes as the Scottish Police Authority and Police Scotland are working with residents in Letham to gather their views on policing.Police Scotland says it is looking to work with communities in “areas of socio-economic deprivation” to gain an “understanding of confidence” in policing in the selected areas.Using a range of data (such as Scottish Government statistics) Letham has been identified as an area for this project.A force spokesperson said: “We want to listen to the views of local people and, where we can, co-design initiatives to address issues that are raised.“We then want to review these initiatives and see if they have had any impact on views and confidence in policing.“It is anticipated that this project will run until April 2024.“The aim of this survey is to gain an understanding of confidence and people’s views
