Concerns raised over sex questions being put to Perth and Kinross pupils in census

An MSP has raised concerns over sexual questions Perth and Kinross school children are being asked in a Scottish Government survey.Children aged P5 to S6 are being invited to take part in the Scottish Government’s Health and Wellbeing Census.Senior pupils in S4 to S6 are being asked questions about drugs and sexual health and relationships.It has been reported the questions being asked of senior pupils - as young as 14 - include asking them how much sexual experience they have had and specifically which types of intercourse.PKC has said the questions are “appropriate to the school stage of the pupils” and no questions regarding sexual relationships would be put to primary school pupils.Parents and carers were recently issued with a letter
