More covid restrictions could "potentially" be placed on Scots before Christmas over fears the Omicron variant may spread rapidly across the country.

Deputy First Minister and Covid Recovery Minster John Swinney said the Scottish Government could not rule out introducing new measures to halt the spread of the deadly virus.
