Fears have been raised that drug deaths will rise in West Dunbartonshire as a result of the coronavirus lockdown.Donnie McGilveray, manager at Dumbarton drugs recovery project Alternatives, says the restrictions mean many will go without the support they desperately need at this time.Last year, we reported how 20 people died in West Dunbartonshire in the 12 months prior due to drugs with the number of deaths rising at a faster rate than the national average.The stats which laid bare a widespread drugs scourge across Scotland revealed there had been an increase of five on the previous year.Donnie said: “I suspect that we will see a rise in drug deaths while support services are stretched and limited and we’ll see that on a national scale.“St
