Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein is writing and is set to direct a music biopic based on the 1980s Seattle rock band Heart, led by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Ann Wilson, during an interview with SiriusXM’s Lyndsey Parker, revealed that a script for the biopic from Brownstein — the actress, singer, author, comedian and musician — is in the works for Amazon Studios. “I can’t tell you all about it, because it’s still being written right now.

I saw the first draft of [Brownstein’s] script, and it’s really cool," Wilson said. Brownstein first rose to fame as a member of the band Excuse 17 before forming Sleater-Kinney.
