Bury council local elections 2024 candidates list in full

Elections for Bury Council are less than a month away with 17 of the 51 seats in the borough’s wards up for grabs in the poll.

Residents are voting to elect a representative in each of the borough’s 17 wards on polling day on Thursday, May 2. A total of 60 candidates in total are standing for councillor positions in each of the wards which make up the town.

The council is currently Labour controlled as they have 31 of the 51 seats. The Conservatives have 11 seats, with Radcliffe First having seven members with the remaining two councillors independent.

The elections will take place on Thursday, May 2, from 7am until 10pm along with similar votes across the country. Candidates from the Conservatives, Labour will contest every ward with the new political party Bury Independents fighting for nine seats.
