British Airways steward dies in front of passengers on plane at London Heathrow

A British Airways steward has sadly died after collapsing in front of passengers onboard a flight at London Heathrow on New Year's Eve.It is understood the 52-year-old was on duty when they collapsed in front of passengers shortly before they were scheduled to take off for Hong Kong.The pilot immediately requested medical assistance as a holidaymaker came forward to help, but sadly the crew member could not be saved and died.As reported in the Mirror, the doors on BA Flight 32 had already been locked and the pilot had asked for permission to push-back and head onto the runway when the crew member is believed to have fallen to the floor, to the shock of passengers.The steward could not be resuscitated when emergency crews rushed onto the plane and the flight was subsequently cancelled due to the medical emergency, the Sun reported.A British Airways spokesperson said "Our thoughts are with our colleagues’ family and friends at this difficult time."It comes after a woman on a Glasgow bound flight died after suffering a cardiac arrest on the way home from Tenerife. The female passenger had been travelling on TUI flight BY1573 when she suffered a cardiac arrest on Friday, December 29.The plane made an emergency landing at Madeira and emergency services met the plane on the tarmac but sadly the woman died, local media reports.And last September, shocked passengers discovered a woman, 73, had died on a flight from London to Nice after believing she was asleep.

The woman reportedly suffered a heart attack mid-air on BA flight 348 out of Heathrow, to the horror of her fellow travellers onboard.
