Boy seriously injured in cyclist hit-and-run

The incident happened on the A58 Lily Lane, close to the junction of Warrington Road, just after 3.30pm on Monday (March 15).

It is believed the collision involved a cyclist and a pedestrian. The pedestrian - a 15-year-old boy - was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

He remains there in a stable condition, a spokesman for GMP said. The cyclist did not stop at the scene. No arrests have been made and officers are appealing for anyone with information anyone to come forward.
