Injured Kirsty Gilmour wasn’t on top form at the Rio 2016 Olympics – and says she intends to make up for that at Tokyo 2020.The Bothwell badminton star tried to play through the pain of a serious knee injury in Brazil but simply couldn’t cope with competition at that level.Gilmour hopes to have done enough to earn a place in Team GB for the event in Japan this summer, and intends to give it her best shot.“Rio was a difficult one for me,” she said during training at sportscotland’s National Badminton Academy at Scotstoun.“It was in the July-time, but in April I tore the meniscus in my right knee, so I was working with a lot of beige-coloured tape to cover up that I was pretty injured.“If there’s one thing you’re going to push through an
