Bolton Wanderers see Kyle Dempsey as the final piece in their January transfer window puzzle but will move on to other targets if Gillingham ultimately turn down the chance of doing a deal.
Wanderers are keen on bringing in the Gills captain to their ranks in central midfield and have submitted bids to the Priestfield outfit for his services.
Dempsey's contract at the Gills runs out this summer and so if he does not sign fresh terms, this month would be the last opportunity for the Kent club to obtain a transfer fee for the midielder or risk losing him for nothing in a few months' time. Ian Evatt believes the offer made is 'reasonable and fair' and presents a good deal for all parties. But Evatt admits that if Gillingham do not want to do a deal, then Wanderers have other targets in mind which they will turn to in that case.
