BBC viewers said they 'not emotionally ready' for family animation Tabby McTat on Christmas Day. The heartwarming adventure, which was now BBC One on Monday afternoon, showed the relationship between street musician Fred and his cat, Tabby on the streets of London.

The television adaption of the classic children's book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler sees Tabby separate from Fred and find companionship in another cat, Sock.

However, the loyal cat still years to see his old friend again and goes on an epic and emotional adventure to be reunited. Watching at home, viewers said they had waited a long time for an adaptation of the book - and were not disappointed by the emotional rollercoaster it took them on.
