BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin in support plea as they offer comeback plans

Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin have issued a little update on their week in training ahead of the Strictly Come Dancing quarter-finals this weekend.

On Saturday night (December 2), the pair will return to the ballroom after surviving the dance-off last weekend. Actor and West End star Layton and professional dancer Nikita found themselves having to dance again for their place in the competition following the usual public vote.

They were up against Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu and both couples had to perform their routines again. Layton and Nikita reprised their American Smooth to ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’ by Björk and Angela and Carlos performed their Cha Cha to ‘I Will Survive’ by Gloria Gaynor in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

However, it was Irish TV presenter Angela and Carlos who became the ninth couple to be eliminated after three of the four judges opted to save Layton and Nikita.
