The nights may already be drawing in but Strictly Come Dancing is now back to bring the glitz and glam back into our lives. The hit BBC One dance contest finally returned to our TV screens.
The new series, which marks the national's favourite dance show's 20th year on air, officially kicked off on Saturday night (September 14) with the pre-recorded launch show.
The episode saw Strictly welcome back hosts, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to the iconic ballroom along with the show's knowledgeable judges, Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke. READ MORE: BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood confesses 'nerves' as he unveils new look for 2024 series As well as revealing which celebrity contestants were paired with which of the talented professional dancers, the launch show featured five epic performances including a fun, fancy footwork filled routine from the pros - and cameos from the wider Strictly family - encouraging everyone to get aboard the Strictly Bus.
There was also a celebratory welcome back dance to mark Amy Dowden's momentous return to the ballroom as well as a fiery and passionate Paso Doble performed by the reigning champions from 2023, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola.
