Strictly Come Dancing's Adam Thomas missed a TV appearance ahead of Saturday's live show due to feeling unwell. The 35 year old star was supposed to be on the spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two on Friday, 27 October.

Now a BBC spokesperson has revealed they are putting plans in place in case Adam's unable to dance tonight saying there are "contingencies".They said: "“We are hopeful Adam will be better and able to perform this weekend. There are contingencies in place should he not be able to.The health and wellbeing of the Strictly cast and crew is production’s absolute priority.” Fleur East, the host of Strictly: It Takes Two, announced Adam's absence on Friday, saying: "Unfortunately, Adam's feeling a bit under the weather but please welcome the lovely Luba." Adam's dance partner, Luba Mushtuk, was asked by Fleur how Adam was doing.

Luba replied: "He (Adam) is resting now, he just hasn't felt very well, but he is resting and getting ready for tomorrow night so everything will be fine." Fleur, who competed on Strictly last year, sent her well wishes to Adam, saying: "Take all the rest you need, Adam, we love you." This comes after Adam was reportedly not allowed to rehearse last week because he was ill.The star of Waterloo Road told his fans on Instagram that he was unwell and shared a picture of himself in bed.

He wrote: "Of all weeks to be poorly!", and said he was trying to get better by drinking Berocca and coffee. Despite feeling poorly, Adam still managed to perform last weekend.
