BBC News viewers were left in stitches after a guest was given an unfortunate caption across the bottom of TV screens.Claire Connelly, who works for Clearly Drinks, is the companies chief financial officer and was invited on to chat about the resignation of Prime Mimister Liz Truss.The interview was about Britain's political uncertainty, writes The Mirror.The recent interview - which had aired on BBC News at Six earlier this week - featured a caption which identified the guest.
It had read: "Claire Connelly, Chief Financial Officer, Clearly Drinks".It has since been joked that the BBC looked as though it was implying that Claire 'clearly drinks'.
The line was of course referencing the name of her employer though.A screenshot of the caption was shared on Twitter. A social media user wrote alongside it: "Well now, that's not a very nice thing to say about someone, BBC News".Their post has now attracted more than 22,000 likes.
It has prompted numerous tickled responses, with people sharing their support for the Clearly Drinks employee.Some people said they couldn't blame others for drinking in the current climate.
