BBC Breakfast viewers were quick to express their concern for show hosts Jon Kay and Sally Nugent during Wednesday’s broadcast (10 April) when the pair appeared to be battling with “croaky voices” while trying present the flagship morning show.

Both presenters greeted fans tuning in at home to the latest news and updates hitting the headlines, while Nina Warhurst delivered the business news to anyone heading off to work.

Fellow presenter Carol Kirkwood was also on hand to deliver the latest weather forecast albeit with a cracking voice, but it was Jon and Sally that sparked concern when the pair were struggling to read the autocue with sore throats.
