16-month-old boy died after drowning in a lake at a caravan site during a family holiday, an inquest heard. Despite multiple resuscitation attempts at the Lakeside Caravan Park in Winsford, Cheshire, Corey James Holland couldn't be saved.

He was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital in Crewe, Cheshire Live reports. Corey was found in the water by dad Phillip Holland, an inquest at Cheshire Coroner's Court heard.

The court also heard how Corey's mum, Kimberley Mackenzie, his dad, and their other children were staying at Phillip's mum and dad's caravan at the park, according to Manchester Evening News.

In a statement from Mr Holland, read out by senior coroner for Cheshire, Alan Moore, the dad said the family, from Wirral, had arrived.
